When your feet or legs hurt from standing or moving for long periods of time, this can lead to other issues such as:

At Nourishing Thyself Clinic, we offer custom orthotics solutions to help relieve and eradicate these painful and sometimes life-altering issues. Our orthotics will:

  • Alleviate foot, leg, and other affected area pain
  • Help to maintain the normal positioning of bones in the foot, as well as ankle joints, knees and toe alignment
  • Help to realign the spinal column
  • Aid in the correction of minor foot deformities such as hammertoes
  • Provide additional shock absorption while walking, jogging, dancing etc.

Our custom orthotics are manufactured specifically to your foots unique characteristics, and if any adjustments are required they’re usually done within the first three to four weeks of your receiving them. An orthotic is designed to change the way you walk, so when you first wear them, do so for about two hours, then increase the length of time in one hour increments each additional day. This “break-in period” is essential for you to gradually transition into using your new orthotics, and benefitting from their many qualities. Once you have worn your custom orthotics for a minimum of eight hours per day for an entire week, you can begin to play your favourite sports or hit the gym. Avoid exposing your orthotics to high heat, and in order to clean them, hand wash with mild soap and water, and air dry.
